Description

The 2024 Porsche 911 964 RWB Body Kit Coupe 1:18 Scale Diecast Model Car by Solido in a bold and breathtakingly vivid Red finish is an absolutely extraordinary and culturally significant collector’s piece that brings together two of the most celebrated and passionately followed names in the entire world of automotive enthusiasm and customisation culture — the timeless, air-cooled, rear-engined genius of the Porsche 911 964 and the visionary, boundary-pushing, globally revered wide-body artistry of Rauh-Welt Begriff, the legendary Japanese customisation philosophy created by the incomparable Akira Nakai whose handcrafted RWB builds have captured the imagination, devotion, and admiration of car enthusiasts, collectors, photographers, and automotive artists across every continent on the planet since the brand first rose to international prominence and became the defining aesthetic movement of modern Porsche customisation culture. The Porsche 911 964, produced between 1989 and 1994, represents one of the purest and most beloved generations of the 911 lineage — a car that retained the raw, characterful, and deeply involving air-cooled flat-six soul of the original 911 concept while introducing meaningful technological refinements including all-wheel drive options, revised suspension geometry, and a more aerodynamically considered body that made it more accessible and more capable than its predecessors without sacrificing any of the visceral, tactile, and utterly addictive driving character that has made the 911 the most continuously produced and consistently desired sports car in the history of the automobile. In the hands of Akira Nakai and Rauh-Welt Begriff, the already dramatic and beautifully proportioned 964 body is transformed into something even more extraordinary and visually overwhelming, with Nakai’s signature hand-cut, hand-fabricated wide-body fender flares dramatically extending the stance of the car over massively widened track and wheel fitment, creating a road presence that is simultaneously aggressive, theatrical, deeply purposeful, and yet paradoxically graceful and aesthetically coherent in the way that only the very finest examples of automotive customisation art can truly achieve, and it is this extraordinary combination — the classical Porsche 911 964 foundation transformed by Nakai’s RWB philosophy — that Solido has captured with impressive skill, accuracy, and dedication in this remarkable 1:18 scale diecast replica. Solido, the respected and long-established French diecast manufacturer with a heritage stretching back decades and a modern reputation built on producing detailed, accurate, and excellent-value precision diecast models across a wide range of automotive subjects and scales, has brought the full drama, presence, and visual complexity of the RWB-bodied 964 to life in 1:18 scale with a level of detail, accuracy, and manufacturing quality that makes this model an immediate and compelling addition to any serious diecast collection, contemporary car culture collection, or Porsche-themed display, and the choice of a vivid and deeply saturated Red finish for this particular example gives the already dramatic RWB wide-body proportions an additional layer of visual intensity, passion, and automotive theatre that makes it one of the most striking and eye-catching models in Solido’s current catalogue. The Red paintwork applied to this model is rich, deep, and brilliantly luminous, catching light across the dramatically sculpted surfaces of the RWB body kit with an energy and dynamism that perfectly suits the bold and unapologetic aesthetic philosophy of Rauh-Welt Begriff, and whether viewed under natural daylight streaming through a window, under the focused beam of a display cabinet spotlight, or in the warm ambient light of a living room or study, the finish shifts and gleams in a constantly changing and endlessly rewarding way that highlights every surface contour, every flare edge, every vent, and every aerodynamic detail of Nakai’s extraordinary bodywork with vivid clarity and dramatic effect. The exterior detailing on this Solido RWB 964 model is impressive throughout, with the signature Rauh-Welt Begriff wide-body fender flares faithfully reproduced in precise and accurate detail that captures the hand-crafted, organic, slightly raw aesthetic quality that distinguishes genuine RWB bodywork from more clinical and corporate aftermarket wide-body kits, and the overall stance of the model — sitting wide, low, and purposeful over its dramatically sized wheel and tyre combination — immediately and unmistakably communicates the visual identity and road presence of a true RWB build in a way that any enthusiast or knowledgeable collector will recognise and appreciate instantly. The front end of this model features the characteristic RWB-modified front bumper and splitter arrangement, the revised front fascia detailing, and the overall aggressive and purposeful nose treatment that Nakai’s builds are renowned for, while the rear of the model is equally dramatic with the wide rear fender flares, the prominent rear wing or ducktail treatment, the exposed and celebrated air-cooled flat-six engine detail visible at the rear, and the overall rear three-quarter view that is arguably the most photographed and most celebrated angle of any RWB Porsche build worldwide. The wheel and tyre combination on this 1:18 Solido model is one of its most visually compelling and authentically rendered features, with the wide, deep-dish, multi-spoke wheel design — so closely associated with the RWB aesthetic and so perfectly suited to the dramatic wide-body stance of Nakai’s creations — faithfully replicated with genuine accuracy and detail, finished to a high standard that captures the spoke geometry, the deep-dish profile, the hub detailing, and the overall proportions of the wheel fitment that gives every RWB Porsche its characteristic and instantly recognisable planted, aggressive, and visually overwhelming road stance, while the wide, low-profile rubber tyre profiles stretch dramatically across the full width of the extended wheel arches in exactly the manner that makes RWB builds so visually dramatic and so widely admired and imitated within global car culture. The interior detailing of this model faithfully reflects the original 964 cabin architecture while incorporating the kind of purposeful, performance-focused interior modifications that typically accompany a genuine RWB build, and Solido has reproduced the steering wheel, instrumentation, seat detailing, and overall cockpit environment with a level of care and accuracy that rewards close inspection through the window glass and adds meaningfully to the overall authenticity and collectible appeal of this exceptional replica. At 1:18 scale, this Porsche 911 964 RWB model occupies exactly the right position in the spectrum of collectible diecast sizes — large enough to display and communicate the full drama, complexity, and visual power of the RWB wide-body treatment with genuine impact and presence, yet compact and practical enough to integrate naturally and elegantly into a very wide range of display environments including dedicated collector shelving, glass showcases, home offices, living rooms, studies, automotive-themed commercial spaces, car dealerships, performance workshops, and any other environment where a bold and culturally relevant statement of automotive passion and collecting sophistication is desired and appreciated. The premium diecast construction of this Solido model gives it a solid, substantial, and satisfying weight that immediately communicates build quality and durability, and the overall fit and finish of every component — body panels, glazing, wheels, tyres, and all exterior detail elements — reflects Solido’s consistent commitment to producing models that offer genuine collector quality and visual authenticity at an accessible and excellent-value price point within the premium diecast market. This model arrives in Solido’s collector-grade packaging that presents and protects the model appropriately for a premium collectible product, and makes it a superb and immediately impressive gift choice for Porsche enthusiasts, 911 collectors, RWB and Rauh-Welt Begriff fans, Japanese car culture devotees, wide-body customisation enthusiasts, diecast model collectors, automotive artists, and anyone who appreciates the extraordinary creative vision of Akira Nakai and the unique cultural phenomenon that Rauh-Welt Begriff has become within the global automotive community. The 2024 Solido Porsche 911 964 RWB Body Kit Coupe in Red is far more than a conventional diecast model car — it is a miniature sculpture that captures a genuinely contemporary and culturally vital moment in automotive customisation history, preserving the essence of Nakai’s handcrafted artistry and the timeless Porsche 911 964 foundation in beautiful, detailed, and lasting diecast form for the enjoyment, inspiration, and admiration of all who encounter it.

About brand
Solido is a French manufacturer of toys and miniature vehicles created in 1932 by Ferdinand de Vazeilles. The company has been based in Josselin since 2015.In 1919, Ferdinand de Vazeilles created the Nanterre Precision Foundry. It has become one of the most renowned in Europe for die casting of special materials applied to the automobile and aviation. In the 1930s, it sought to diversify and was contacted to mold an object for use in advertising by the company Gergovia, a French manufacturer of auto parts famous for its spark plugs. The success was immediate and this, now legendary, «Bougie Gerogovia» caused Ferdinand de Vazeilles to have an idea. The French industrialist decided to start producing metal toys and filed a patent for this new activity in 1932. The adventure was launched! Two years later, the Solido brand was registered by de Vazeilles. Its name refers to the strength of the toys offered. This new company will go through the decades and settle in the French industrial landscape.
